General Application Requirements (Fall 2022-2023)

 

 

 

GENERAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS TO GRADUATE PROGRAMS

 

Since Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences can determine criteria and special conditions above the minimum application requirements in terms of Departments and Programs, it is important to examine the relevant program conditions and other announcements before applying.

 

  1. Since detailed information and possible changes regarding the student admission process to the Graduate Programs will be announced on the Institute's web address, those concerned should follow these pages regularly.
  2. Except for the non-thesis master's programs, it is not possible to enroll and continue in more than one graduate program at the same time. If the candidate has previously registered in a graduate program with thesis; In order to be able to enroll in the program he/she has won, he/she must delete his/her registration (which appears in YÖKSİS).
  3. Candidates have a total of two (application) options (except for non-thesis master's programs) to all Institutes of Gazi University in their graduate applications.
  4. More than one application cannot be made at the same time to the programs announced at our institute (except for non-thesis master's programs). The evaluation of each program applied by the candidate is calculated independently of each other.
  5. Missing documents and false declarations are the responsibility of the candidate. Even if the candidates who are found not to comply with the general conditions or the special conditions of the programs have been able to make an application or final registration through the Application System; In accordance with the related articles of Gazi University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and Gazi University Graduate Programs, Foreign/Foreign Student Admission Directive, the registration of such candidates will be cancelled. Candidates who have a bachelor's degree or equivalency/school recognition certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education and can graduate until the final registration date can apply to graduate programs.
  6. Candidates who have a master's degree or a master's equivalence / school recognition certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education can apply to doctoral programs.
  7. Students who graduated from non-thesis master's programs before 06/02/2013 or who enrolled in a non-thesis master's program before this date can apply to doctoral programs.
  8. In calculation of graduation grade or weighted grade point average, the system conversion table of 4 and 100 points of the Higher Education Council is taken as a basis.
  9. Candidates' weighted grade point averages, the program they graduated from and other necessary information are obtained from YÖKSİS (for those who graduated from higher education institutions in Turkey). Changes that may occur in the GPA and other information of these candidates in the YÖKSİS database after the application date are not taken into account. Candidates who are not registered with YÖKSİS must complete the YÖKSİS registration and update procedures required from the higher education institutions from which they will graduate/graduate at the time of application.
  10. The grade point average found in the YÖKSİS database on the application date of the candidate is taken as the weighted grade point average of the graduate students whose applications to graduate programs are conditionally accepted. Changes that may occur in the GPA of these candidates in the YÖKSİS database after the application date are not taken into account. Candidates whose applications are conditionally accepted gain the right to enroll if their graduation grade point averages meet the application criteria. Candidates who are not registered with YÖKSİS must complete the YÖKSİS registration and update procedures required from the higher education institutions from which they will graduate/graduate at the time of application. Note: Undergraduate students who have reached the graduation stage but have not graduated yet, who will apply to master's programs, must fill in and upload the Conditional Enrollment Petition instead of the Diploma Certificate under the Documents heading in the Application System.
  11. Candidates who have completed the Bachelor's/Thesis Master's program abroad must have the equivalence/school recognition certificate of their diploma from the Higher Education Council.
  12. ALES is not required for applications to graduate and/or doctoral programs for PhD, Specialization in Medicine (TUS), Specialization in Dentistry (DUS), Specialization in Pharmacy (EUS) graduates, and within this scope, the ALES score to be included in the calculations for applications to programs has been determined as 70 by the decision of the Gazi University Senate. Candidates who meet the other Special Conditions of the program will be able to apply.
  13.  Applications/Final Registrations will take place online, and the Candidates must approve the Application Approval (I Accept) Text and the Final Registration Commitment Text in the System. Applications that are not approved will not be considered.
  14. Evaluation and announcement of results will be made as stated in the appendix.
  15. For the matters not mentioned above, Gazi University Postgraduate Education Application Principles, Doctoral Education Application Principles, Senate decisions and conditions announced by the Institute are taken into consideration.

ARTICLE 7 – (1) Final registration procedures are carried out within the period announced by the relevant institute on the website and in accordance with the principles announced.

(2) Candidates who do not make the final registration within the deadline lose their right to register. Instead of these candidates, candidates in the reserve list are accepted by being announced in order. Responsibility for following the announcements and updates regarding these announcements belongs to the candidates.

 

(3) Except for non-thesis master's programs, it is not possible to enroll and continue in more than one graduate program at the same time.

In Article 39-(3), "The student is obliged to follow up the messages sent to his e-mail address." According to the provision, all kinds of notifications to the student will be made by sending them to the student's e-mail address in the Student Affairs Information System.
