Phase 3
The Academic Unit Board Decision must be attached with a detailed justification. If there is a shortage in the number of academic staff and actions have been initiated to resolve this (e.g., staff request from YÖK, staff transfer etc.), documents obtained from the relevant unit or Personnel Department and an explanation on how courses will be conducted must also be attached.
(If the number of academic staff is sufficient, this information does not need to be included.)
Institute Board Decision (Once the program opening proposal is prepared according to the specified forms, it will be included in the Institute Board's agenda by us.)
**** After the opening proposal submitted by academic units is approved by the University Senate and accepted by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), to enter information of newly opened programs and existing programs to be added into the new system into the Student Information System Download Template.
As known, according to the “Principles on the Opening and Execution of Graduate Education Programs”; a Master’s program may be opened with at least three faculty members employed by the university, at least two of whom must be Professors or Associate Professors. A Doctoral program may be opened with at least six faculty members employed by the university; at least two must be Professors, and if one is a Professor, then at least two must be Associate Professors.
