Our Director of the Institute of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Saniye Bilici, attended the Disaster Nutrition Group Workshop organized by the Turkish Red Crescent General Directorate of Disaster and Community Services, Directorate of Disaster Preparedness and Risk Reduction, held in Istanbul on July 20–21, 2026.

Organized within the scope of the Disaster Response Plan of Türkiye (TAMP) to ensure the effective, coordinated, and sustainable execution of nutrition services during disasters and emergencies, the workshop brought together stakeholders from public institutions, local governments, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and universities.

During the workshop, the current status, strengths, and areas for improvement of the disaster nutrition system, as well as recommendations for the more effective utilization of institutional capacity, were evaluated.
