Gazi University Among the 5 Universities Awarded the Turkish Red Crescent Disaster Nutrition Group Membership Certificate

Organized by the Turkish Red Crescent to strengthen the effective planning and execution of nutrition services at the national level during disasters and emergencies, the Turkish Red Crescent Disaster Nutrition Group Platform Introductory Meeting and Workshop was held in Istanbul on July 20–21, 2026.

Our Institute Director, Prof. Dr. Saniye Bilici, attended the meeting.

Within the scope of the workshop, the Turkish Red Crescent Disaster Nutrition Group Membership Certificate, presented by the President of the Turkish Red Crescent, Prof. Dr. Fatma Meriç Yılmaz, and the President of AFAD, Ali Hamza Pehlivan, was presented to our University's Rector, Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal.

Gazi University, by being among the 5 universities entitled to receive the Turkish Red Crescent Disaster Nutrition Group membership, has once again demonstrated its commitment to contributing to nutrition services to be carried out during disasters and emergencies. In this context, an application for Disaster Nutrition Accreditation has also been submitted by our University.

As the Institute of Health Sciences, we are greatly pleased with our University's participation in this important platform; we continue to contribute to generating scientific knowledge, training qualified human resources, and conducting studies in line with our sense of social responsibility in the field of disaster and emergency management. We will continue to add value to our country with our academic expertise and institutional collaborations in disaster preparedness and response processes.
